Charitable Recycling - Canada

The Charitable Recycling Program accepts all cell phones. Also include the phone's battery and charger if available. Please place or attach these components together with the phone before dropping it in the collection bin.

** Non-working phones will be recycled  in accordance with federal and local environmental standards for its metal and plastic components.

HOW IT WORKS
  • Collect used cell phones.  Attach the battery & charger to the phone if available. A monetary donation will be given to the organization/charity for each phone.
  • Please make certain that you cell phone has been deactivated before donating it.  A deactivated phone is no longer connected to your cell phone service.  (To deactivate, contact your cell phone carrier.)  When the phones are refurbished, they are completely cleared and reprogrammed so there is no need to be worried about being charged for airtime.
  • Ask your friends, family, employers and businesses in your area if they have any used cell phones to donate. Remind them of the benefits of the Charitable Recycling Program. Ask local businesses if you can place a collection bin in their office or store.
  • Place the used cell phones in the designated collection bins. Donation receipts can be generated by clicking here.
